Luncheon

On Saturday, November 2, there will be a luncheon exploring the intersection of policy and medicine as it pertains to women's health and women's access to healthcare and a celebration of leaders on the frontlines of the fight to protect women's rights. This is a ticketed event separate from the conference itself, with single seats and full tables available. Please see below for more information!

RISE UP Satellite Luncheon– Post Dobbs: Celebrating Successes in Ensuring Access and Equity in Reproductive Care for All

When: November 2nd, 2024 (12:30-2pm PST)

Where: Hotel Nikko, San Francisco, CA (no need to relocate if you're also attending the conference!)

Purpose of the Luncheon Event: The luncheon will raise funds to catalyze research and implementation of the most innovative ideas to rethink and reformulate medications used for hormonal manipulation throughout the course of a woman’s lifetime (e.g. cycle control, birth control, postmenopausal hormone replacement, postpartum weaning, and IVF) and redesign them with a goal of reducing the incidence of breast cancer. The best solutions will be presented and awarded during RISE UP’s final session (November 3rd, 2024), which will be co-organized by leaders from drug development and the California venture capital community. Now that we understand so much more about breast cancer, there is no reason that we cannot incorporate this knowledge into hormonal and cycle control.

The Topic: A celebration of the efforts to protect women’s access to full reproductive care.

With abortion care banned completely in almost one in three states across the US, we will recognize state leaders fighting to improve, maintain, and increase access to these critical services. Our goal is to highlight and honor leaders striving to protect women and providers from criminal prosecution and advocating for constitutional amendments to safeguard women’s rights. This luncheon will empower attendees to advocate for these protections in their communities.

Luncheon Presentations: We will honor and hear from governors, representatives, grassroots organizers, historical trailblazers and young leaders from both states which have protected reproductive care access, and those which currently are working to enshrine abortion protections in their state constitutions. We will hear about efforts to get abortion on the ballot, maintain mifepristone access in the community, the lessons from pre-Roe, and where we stand today. We might even hear a rallying song from Laura Esserman!

Medicines360 | Nonprofit Pharmaceutical OrganizationJoin the organizing committee: We welcome everyone to become a leader and advocate for women’s health. Join the organizing committee by committing to raising a table of 10 at $1,000 each. Everyone can make a difference. This forum will energize our (inter)national group of attendees to think about, participate and engage in supporting initiatives to increase reproductive care access in their communities and beyond. This luncheon, alongside the insights gained from RISE UP, will ignite our fight for breast cancer prevention and ensure greater access to women’s healthcare for all. Please reach out at [email protected] if you're interested in getting involved or just getting more information.

Tickets: In addition to purchasing a table, individual tickets will be available for purchase. Please reach out to [email protected] with any questions.
